Golds Gym 1190The Gold’s Gym 1190 Treadmill

Hello Hello! Hope everyone had a good spring break, even though most of us don’t get one of those… Hope it was well none the less. The treadmill I’m happy to write about today is the Gold Gym 1190. The Treadmills that Gold Gym sends home are not the same as the ones you run on at the gym. Club quality treadmills are a completely different breed of treadmills from home quality ones. So don’t get them confused.

The 1190 is Gold’s Gym’s most expensive treadmill coming in at $1,299 bucks. That’s not a bad price but don’t expect a real club quality treadmill if you’re paying less than 4 or 5 grand. This is strictly home-use treadmill, which is not always a bad thing. You wouldn’t always want to put a heavy duty club machine in your home. For most people this treadmill will suffice for their needs. And the price will suffice for most budgets too.

The good things about this treadmill are:

  • The middle-class specs:
  • 2.5 CHP G-Force 2 Commercial Plus motor (who comes up with these names?)
  • 12% Incline
  • 12MPH Speed
  • 325 lb weight limit
  • 20″ x 60″ running belt

Along with the decent specs you are given some nice features for the taking. You get the comfort cushioning, the heart rate, the Ifit live, the workout fan, a nice ipod connection with speakers, and a decent Lifetime Frame and motor with 1 year parts and labor. You know, all the regular stuff you would hope for on a decent treadmill above $1,000.

  • The frame is strong, and shouldn’t rattle or make noise.
  • The deck is strong. You can put some big people on this without it breaking
  • The packaging is well done. It’s easy to put together and stays together well.
  • It is sold by a reliable company.

Some things that could be improved on:

  • The Engine is a little small, Even though I listed it in the good things, a 3.0HP motor would be better.
  • It isn’t as quiet as it could be

So there you have it. Not a bad treadmill. Not a bad price. I’d recommend it. Check it out if you’re looking for one in this price range.

About My Treadmill Reviews

TreadmillMy treadmill reviews are both subjective and objective. They are objective in the sense that I will provide you with information about each machine, such as motor, weight capacity and other features. But they are subjective in the sense that I am really giving my opinion of each treadmill. You may agree or disagree with my opinion, but my hope is that my elliptical and treadmill reviews can be helpful to you in making a decision on what to buy. Remember that each review is just what I think. You can always check out Treadmill Doctor, Treadmill Review Guru or these other treadmill reviews if you want another opinion.
