The Yowza Smyrna
Alright, here we go for another Yowza Treadmill review. Hold on to your seat, you remember how exciting the last Yowza review was! These treadmill reviews sure have a way of helping you forget about your problems, and bringing you to a place of adventure and excitement don’t they? I thought so.
Anyway, before I get too carried away. The Yowza Smyrna treadmill is the last Yowza treadmill that hasn’t been reviewed. I’ve taken a fancy to Yowza lately, and it looks like now I’ve reviewed all their treadmills. This treadmill in particular is a non-folding treadmill and a sturdy one at that. It’s priced right in the middle of the line-up at $1,399. Right now, today, there is a real sale on the Juno, Biscayne, and Siesta models. They’re marked way down. The site says for just 1 day, but we’ll see. A lot of these companies throw “Big One Day Sales” which turn out to be hardly sales at all. But this Yowza one today is legitimate as can be. The treadmills are marked down as much as $500 bucks. Check it out. The Juno is only $799 which is super super cheap.
Anyways, back to the Smyrna. The treadmill has a 3.0 CHP motor. Anything at or above 3.0 CHP is pretty safe, as long is it is quality enough to live up to its Horsepower. Some engines say they’re up at 3 CHP, and when you run on them they get so revved up with their high RPMs that it feels like the engine is going to explode. So, if the HP is high, and the quality is high, and the noise is low, you can feel confident in your engine. Such is the case with this motor. It feels smooth, quiet, and strong. Yowza offers quality engines in their machines.
The Smyrna is a non-folding treadmill, generally making it more sturdy than folding models. The frame is strong, heavy, and welded, and covered by a lifetime warranty. So, you really won’t need to worry about the motor or the frame, they should be fine.
The treadbelt is a strong heavy, multi-ply full-sized 20″ x 60″ belt, and slides quietly and smoothly on the deck. The deck is padded by two padded “multi-durometer elastomer rings” basically 2 black cushy things that allow the deck some give when you step. It works fairly well but can’t be adjusted.
The console is a nice user-friendly, and visually appealing console. It has the 1 touch speed and incline controls on it, so you don’t have to press up or down 100 times to change your speed or incline. The speed goes up to 11MPH, and the incline goes up to 12%. It also has a variety of fun and effective built in workouts that you can play around with. It has an Ipod dock, a fan, a hear rate receiver, and grip pulses.
Here’s a list of specs:
- 3.0CHP Motor
- 300lb weight capacity
- 12% Incline
- 11 MPH
- 20″ x 60″ running belt
- Fan, Ipod dock, speakers
- Warranty: lifetime frame and motor, 5 year parts, 2 year labor
With the size and quality of the machine, the great warranty, and the features and functionality, this is a low priced treadmill. Yowza does a good job at delivering impressive treadmills. Whether it’s just for yourself, your family, or everyone at work, this treadmill shouldn’t have any problem with most size runners. It should be able to handle whatever you can give it for years without complaining.
