Greetings readers! I’ve got another treadmill review at a glance lined up for you today. Check out how this treadmill stacks up against others in this short, sweet, and to the point treadmill review!

This treadmill brings something new to the table: getting more than what you are paying for. This treadmill has received numerous awards mainly because of the low price of the treadmill when it is such high quality. This treadmill is part of the lowest price range for treadmills and is certainly on top, on account of it’s top notch quality. The only notable problems with this treadmill is the relatively low weight capacity, and the frame is known to have problems under intense running. Even when we stack this one up against other top of the line treadmills like I did with the Horizon T101, a treadmill in the similar price range, it it still does fairly well at the higher level. So here it is, the Proform 8.0 ZT At A Glance!

Hello everybody! I am continuing with my mission to bring you simple, short, and easy-to-read treadmill reviews, so here is another treadmill review at a glance!
Today we have the Horizon T101 treadmill. Like all of my treadmill reviews, it is rated on how it compares with other treadmills; and when compared this way, the T101 isn’t really that great, hence only 3 stars. But when you look at this treadmill on a more subjective basis, it really isn’t that bad. I believe that Horizon didn’t make this treadmill for the fitness nut that goes all-out on their treadmill. They made it for the person who is on a budget and still wants to use a treadmill to get a great workout. If my purpose was to judge this treadmill on a subjective basis, then by all means it would receive more than 3 stars; but because I judge all treadmills equally it only receives 3. Here it is, at a glance!

Ohiyo! Greetings loyal readers! I have noticed lately that all the treadmill reviews out there for the popular machines are getting, well, the same. Everyone says the same thing and gives you the same info about all the same machines. I wanted to try and fix that with a new series called “At A Glance.”

Let’s be honest, you aren’t looking for much info on these treadmills. You want to know the motor size, incline, weight capacity, treadbelt and all that good stuff. And yeah, you want to hear a review as to the quality of the treadmill. But you don’t want to read endless garbage copied from the manufacturer’s website.

So I’ve decided to give you my reviews in condensed form. My first go at it is the nordictrack C900 Pro. It is literally at a glance. You can see my ratings and the specs all at once. Hope you enjoy!

Yet another great guest article! This one is from Diana Maria, who writes for diyhealth.com. She is a professional blogger and loves writing about technology. She also likes reading various articles on ecofriend. Here is her article about some exercises that don’t even feel like they are exercise! Enjoy!

Most of us simply detest the boredom of hitting the gym and slogging it out. The endless wait behind getting hold of the elliptical machine next and the countless number of crunches just makes workouts equivalent to a punishment. Wouldn’t it be fun if we worked out without knowing it, or perhaps doing it in a way that a workout does not seem like a workout at all? The answer would definitely be a ‘yes’, as we all dream of svelte and toned bodies, but are more or less unwilling to go through the slogging gym routine. So don’t be burdened by exercise and try to be more creative in deriving fun out of workouts. Here are ten fantastic ways to keep yourself slim and trim, without even knowing that you are working out!

1. Invest in a swingset

We all have unconsciously exercised constantly as kids – running, jumping and playing all the time. Go back into your childhood and find your way back into the playground. There are some fun exercise routines that you can do by using a simple swing set that helps in toning the body. Buy yourself a CD and follow it to get a complete workout in a fun way!

2. Buy a trampoline and jump around

Another great fun activity that would help you burn the flab would be bouncing on a trampoline. Not only is it fun but it is also a great calorie buster. Studies show that only ten minutes of trampoline jumping is equivalent to half an hour of running. You can even do some cool moves on the trampoline and get some extra benefits like the “starfish” where you have splay out your arms and legs, or the “seat drops” in which your legs have to be parallel to the ground and then you have to bounce back on your bottom.

3. Have a splash in the water with standup paddleboarding

Standup paddleboarding is the latest workout routing that is fun and entertaining. This intense activity has the capacity to help you burn anything between 500-700 calories in one single hour! It helps in serious toning of your arms, back and core muscles. You could take this a step further by doing other moves like modified push-ups and yoga poses too!

4. Outdoor elliptical

Take the elliptical out in the open and invest in the latest ElliptiGO bike which creates a feeling of running outside without any risk to your joints. Not only will you derive physical benefits out of this, but the outdoor environment will certainly boost your energy and revitalize your senses.

5. Give burlesque a shot

The year 2008 saw pole dancing as one great exercise, with many people adopting it as a fun exercise. Why not adopt its sensuous sister – burlesque dancing – with its fast paced dancing which is a mix of bump-and-grind, hip hop and jazz for a perfectly toned body. This form of dance also helps in increasing flexibility. Basically any dance can be fun while also giving you a great workout.

6. Try waterless surfing

You don’t need the beach and perfect waves to surf. Now take the water out of surfing by hopping on to a dry board to get a fantastic workout. This board called RipSurfer Xis a fitness equipment that simulates water surfing. This is a great cardio workout that involves a lot of concentration and works out your core muscles as you are required to stay on the surfing board throughout.

7. Try juggling

Burning 280 calories in an hour and that too only by juggling can be a dream come try for many of us. This is the benefit of juggling and you can learn it via a program called JuggleFit. Juggling strengthens your core muscles, helps coordination and makes you stress free too!

8. Skipping for fun

Skipping was a favorite recess game for girls. You can relive your childhood play sessions by using the jump rope for burning out calories. You can accompany rope jumping with some music to help you feel motivated. Skipping burns calories fast apart from increasing agility and strength.

9. Hop around

Another great fun activity you perhaps did as a kid was Kangoo hopping. Wear comfortable padded shows and hop around. Kangoos can help you burn 50% more calories that a normal cardio workout by burning a whopping 750-1500 calories in one hour!

10. Fun boot camp

You can give a new meaning to boot camps by making them fun. There are many fun boot camps that help you burn 800 calories in one session. Outdoor boot camps in scenic locations only add on to the fun element and make workouts seem great!

Workouts are fun and exciting if they are done in a fun manner. Outdoor activities that have some semblance of what we had done as children is something that is catching and attractive.

For most of us, it is pretty hard to get motivation to wake up early and get out and exercise. As we all know, the benefits of exercising are without number. Even though this is a well-known fact, we still struggle with actually following through with a workout plan. It’s happened to all of us; we make a serious plan to lose weight or get ripped by getting up early to exercise, we think that we’ll follow through because we are very motivated, and yet within a week or two, that motivation has completely left us!

Unfortunately, motivation doesn’t come in a bottle; you can’t buy it at the store, or even borrow it from somebody else. Things would be so much easier if you could just run down to the grocery store and pick up a bottle of motivation. Well, even though it isn’t that easy, there are still some tricks you can do to make it easier to get up early in the morning to go exercise. This cool little infographic does a splendid job of showing you some simple things you can do that will make getting up early a lot less scary.

Hello there everybody! I’ve got another guest article here for ya today. This one is from Nathan over at Pannone. He’s going to give us some tips to avoid head injuries while working out. Enjoy!

Going to the gym is widely acknowledged as being one of the best possible ways of staying in shape; however, that is not to say that people cannot injure themselves while being there…

Although the odds of hurting yourself while on your weekly workout may not be extremely high, it certainly pays to know what the most common injuries that can occur are – that way you stand a much better chance of not falling victim to them!
Below are some of the most likely ways a person might pick up an injury at the gym, as well as some simple tips on how to avoid such injuries:

Walk before you run

The vast majority of injuries at the gym are caused by over-exertion. Although it is admirable to want to get fit, it’s hugely important to remember that there are certain physical limitations on how much you can achieve when first starting out. With this in mind, make sure that you keep it simple to start with as far as weights and cardio. In addition to this, it’s crucial to remember that to get adequate rest between gym sessions!

At a stretch

It’s surprising to hear how many people injure themselves during the warm-up stages of their exercising sessions. The most common type of warm up injury results directly from incorrect stretching techniques; it is vital that you don’t “bounce” into a stretch. Although this may feel like it is of more benefit that a slow and steady stretch, it also places the target ligament/muscle under a great deal more strain. That may well be strain which it is not capable of handling!

Follow the rules

More and more gym injuries are occurring as a result of people not paying enough consideration to health & safety rules. It may seem as though your gym is slowly turning into a totalitarian regime, but rules are there for a reason. Making sure you don’t run in wet (and slippery!) locker rooms and on swimming pool surfaces will help to ensure you avoid a nasty fall.

Tread well

Treadmills are a great piece of workout kit; however, they can easily cause injury through misuse. Surprisingly, falling off a treadmill is not the most common injury. It is in fact shoulder injuries which take the top spot for treadmill-related injuries. These are caused by people holding on to the safety bar for dear life whilst running at full pelt. Going at such a speed may be scary, but it clearly pays to let go once in a while!

Hi there Treadmill Sensei fans. If you haven’t heard of us we are TreadmillReviews.com and we have the largest collection of treadmill reviews online with over 500 reviews and counting. You can keep up with us by checking out our blog.

We wanted to share something with you that we think is very important. Diabetes is one of the fastest growing diseases in the nation. It is affecting people of all ages.

The sad thing is diabetes is mostly self-inflicted. It was not nearly as big a problem just 50 years ago when the American lifestyle didn’t revolve around fast food and sitting on the couch.

Because of our unhealthy habits, we are essentially causing diabetes. Now don’t misunderstand; not everyone who gets diabetes could have prevented it and not everyone who lives an unhealthy life is going to get diabetes.

However, diabetes has been shown to be largely preventable with proper diet and lifestyle adjustments. We put together the graphic below to help people better understand this. Hopefully it helps you better understand diabetes and what you might be able to do about it. Be sure to share this with your friends using the sharing options to the left or pin it on Pinterest.

A treadmill is a great way to help your body recover from a surgery. Most people do not receive the amount of therapy needed after surgery so it takes much longer for their bodies to recuperate.

Having a treadmill in the home can be a great way to ease your body into moving again especially when you cannot leave the home. Remember to start with very slow motion levels and never jump into an incline.

There are many different kinds of treadmill options to consider when buying one for your home. Make sure you look into what features each ones offers to find the best possible fit for you.

Most treadmills have a fold up option but there are still some good ones that do not offer this. Make sure you have a good amount of space to place your treadmill in if it does not fold up.

You never want to have it backed up in a corner unless the front of the machine it facing the corner head on. Never have it backed up against the wall with the belt close to the wall edge.

If you have an accident of any kind you can get pinned against the bottom of the treadmill and the wall. If you have taken the proper precautions by attaching the safety key to your clothing, should this happen, the motion of the treadmill will immediately stop preventing you from further harm.

If you have not headed the warnings to keep the back end of the treadmill clear you will still be pinned against the wall. It is quite possible there may not be anyone nearby to help you get back up. You could be laying there for hours on end.

Using a treadmill as a way to create in home therapy is an awesome idea. You can strengthen your legs with walking exercises and hopefully before too long you may become strong enough to run.

A lot of people try out different tactics like building a laptop stand around their treadmill or putting a price on the snooze button so they are more motivated to wake up and be active. Likewise, some people might be motivated to exercise if they can play games while doing it.

Ellipticals are actually one of the better exercise machines for playing games. Because they are designed for you to have your hands on some kind of handle, the handles make for great spots for buttons. This is why games are much more common on ellipticals than they are on treadmills.

Most of the up-to-date treadmills and ellipticals come with iFit Live and even an iPod jack. Do not confuse these with game functionality. Sure, you could probably play a game on your iPod Touch or iPhone with the right iPod jack and holder, but it might be a hard with your hand flipping and flopping all over the place. It definitely wouldn’t make for a very successful game of Angry Birds. A lot of make the assumption that iFit means games. This is not so. iFit is just a collection of workouts that are supposed to help you get the most out of your machine. It’s more like a personal trainer than anything else. iFit Live now includes GoogleMaps so that you can “run anywhere”.

iFit and an iPod jack might not be enough for some of the more competitive athletes. So, for those of you that like to exercise your mind and your body at the same time, I bring to you A List of Ellipticals That Have Games.

Exercise Bike with Games

I know this post is about ellipticals, but if you prefer exercise bikes over ellipticals and want to play games on your bike, you can checkout the ZX2 Upright Bike by Pro-Form.

And there’s my list of Ellipticals with games. There are many other exercise machines out there that allow you to play games like Fat Blocker but these are some of the nicer ones that I have seen.

The Steelflex XT 7600 is one beefy treadmill if I do say so myself! This is probably the most solid, and sturdy-looking machine. This literally looks like it is going to transform into a giant robot with pretty large guns. I just love the steely look of this monstrous machine!

It’s got a 3.5hp continuous duty motor that is going to last for quite a long time, and ensure you keep exercising for years to come. Also ensuring this machines quality and durability, it can hold a maximum user capacity of 400lbs. This treadmill has the ability to speed up to 12mph, and it can actually do incline training, going from 0-15% incline. Also included on this treadmill is a 3-matrix LED display screen that shows you all of your workout feedback like your heart rate, calorie burn, time, and distance. This is one beasty machine that is going to last a very long time.

If you have the money to get this treadmill, then I would highly recommend getting this. Just look at this design, it looks like it is made out of a solid piece of steel. Like I said, if you have the money, then it would be a great buy because it is pretty expensive. It generally is priced around $4,600. So it is definitely worth the money, if you’ve got it. This is a treadmill that is going to last a very long time because it is made of solid steel!

You can find out more about the Steelflex XT 7600 by checking out it at Steelflex’s website.
