Greetings readers! I’ve got another treadmill review at a glance lined up for you today. Check out how this treadmill stacks up against others in this short, sweet, and to the point treadmill review!
The Proform 8.0 ZT
Ohiyo! In the line-up for today we’ve got the Proform 8.0 ZT. It’s just a little fella, but we’ll see what it’s got packed into its little frame. For $599 if it’s any good at at all, it would be a great deal. Proform’s current models in the $599 price range are the Performance 400, and the 590T. This one is still in stock, and being sold, but isn’t being advertised or displayed. The 3 treadmills are very similar, but have their own unique and noteworthy differences.
The Proform 850 T
We’re going to hit up the $1,299 market today and review the Proform 850T Treadmill. This price class is an intensely competitive market with all sorts of companies marketing treadmills at that price. In order to stand out here, a treadmill has to really go the extra mile in all the aspects of quality, power, durability, warranty, and features.
The 850 T, while impressive in some aspects is pretty well average in this class. The treadmill has a high quality, but small motor. With 2.5 CHP, it will suffice for most runners, but may have problems if you push it too hard. I usually try to stay above 3.0 CHP if I can. And, that is possible in this price range.
The Proform Pro 4500
Okay, I’m back to my regular self and reviewing treadmills again. Today I’m going to cover the Proform Pro 4500. Whenever a treadmill comes out with a high price, people want to know what’s so special about it that makes it so expensive. The treadmill right now costs $2,999 at full price. Generally the pattern is that a new treadmill will come out and get everyone excited, but be a bit too expensive. Then after a little while, Proform will slash the price in half with a big sale, and everyone will grab it up. Seems to work pretty well for them so far. Right now this treadmill is still in the ‘prepping everyone for the big sale’ mode. I imagine it will be put on sale in the near future, but can’t guarantee it.
The Proform 590T Treadmill
Good Morning! What I have for you today is..(Drum Roll)…Another Proform!!! Woohooo! Right? Keep this up, and all you loyal fans of mine are going to be Proform Experts. One of the funny trends that I find growing is the little “Consumer Magazine Best Buy” Badge these treadmill companies stick on the images of their treadmills. Yet Which consumer magazine, I haven’t the foggiest, and what they said about the treadmills and when they rated them, who knows..All I know is there is a little “Best Buy” image next to the treadmill. If anyone ever finds a link to the supposed review, or a snippet of which magazine or which issue, let me know, but for now, I’ll just have to assume that it’s some magazine in Uganda that nobody ever has or ever will hear about.
Anyhow, regardless of amusing marketing schemes, this treadmill would have the potential to make it into the best buys of some magazines. With its low price, you get a decent machine. Despite the reviews I used to write about Proform and Icon machines, they have actually come a long way in the last few years to improve their treadmills’ durability, as well as extending their warranties.
The Proform Pro 2500
Anyone ever listened to the song Voyage, by Yanni? Tell you what, it dramatizes the whole mood of whatever you’re doing. I was working on a treadmill yesterday while listening to that song, and it made the whole operation seem action packed. I felt like the world depended on me for those few minutes. Finally, when the song ended I realized I was just working on a treadmill, doing my thing. I guess I’ll just have to keep changing the world – One Treadmill Review At a Time! Maybe I’ll make that my new headline.
Anyway, the treadmill I was working on was the Proform Pro 2500. Anyone heard of it? It’s pretty new. If anyone has one, I’d love to hear about your experience with it. It’s hard to know exactly how well new treadmills are going to hold up until they’ve been tried with the test of time. However, I’ve got pretty good confidence in this one, and it’s older brother the Pro 4500. Both are some of the most solid machines Proform has come out with. From head to toe they’re not only heavy-built, but decked out with features to make things more fun, convenient, and comfortable. It’s a luxury treadmill in every aspect.
The Proform Performance 900
Has anyone bought a Proform Performance 900 lately? It’s been sitting quietly for a while now. I know that it’s selling a lot, but haven’t heard much about it as far as questions, complaints, praises, or anything. I guess usually that’s a good thing, the people that are buying them don’t seem to be having any issues with it. Before recently I’ve never really spent much time with the machine. But, I’ve been checking it out recently, so I figured I’d let you all know what I think.
The Proform Performance 400
OHIYO! In going through my collection of reviews I realized that I have never written a review focused on the Proform Performance 400 treadmill. The cheapest treadmill by Proform. The price tag on this treadmill is going to appeal to a lot of treadmill shoppers. So I thought it would be a good idea to do some checking into it and write a review on it, for those looking into buying it.
The Proform Trailrunner 2.0 Treadmill
Ohiyo!
Our treadmill spotlight of the day is on the Proform Trailrunner 2.0. We talked about Trailrunner 4.0 a while back, and now it’s time to check out its little brother. It’s a new model for 2011, and it’s a quick selling machine. It has been a major player in the Proform line so far this year.
It’s going for about $1,500, which is $1000 off the regular price, so it’s not hard to see why it’s going so fast. When people see a deal like that, they often don’t even stop long to see what they’re buying. So before you give in to your impulsive tendencies, take some time to read this so you can know exactly what it is your buying.
The Proform Power 1080
OHIYO! Thanks be to my loyal customers we are blazing through these treadmills! Pretty soon I’ll have nothing left to write about because I’ll have already reviewed every treadmill! Of course, I’m certain you’ll keep coming back to hear about my unusually exciting escapades down the Long Horned River and across Mount Titicaca. Seeing as that’s what I do on my spare time.
Of course, treadmill companies are so dang good at grabbing an old treadmill, slapping a new name on it, and selling it for twice as much as “the new model”, I imagine I’ll never be able to keep up with all the “new models” out there. I feel invigorated with purpose knowing that wherever there’s a poor soul looking to buy a treadmill, A “Treadmill Sensei” will be there for the rescue to keep them from getting ripped off. To me, that’s even better than Mount Titicaca..almost.

My treadmill reviews are both subjective and objective. They are objective in the sense that I will provide you with information about each machine, such as motor, weight capacity and other features. But they are subjective in the sense that I am really giving my opinion of each treadmill. You may agree or disagree with my opinion, but my hope is that my elliptical and treadmill reviews can be helpful to you in making a decision on what to buy. Remember that each review is just what I think. You can always check out
