Proform 850T The Proform 850 T

We’re going to hit up the $1,299 market today and review the Proform 850T Treadmill. This price class is an intensely competitive market with all sorts of companies marketing treadmills at that price. In order to stand out here, a treadmill has to really go the extra mile in all the aspects of quality, power, durability, warranty, and features.

The 850 T, while impressive in some aspects is pretty well average in this class. The treadmill has a high quality, but small motor. With 2.5 CHP, it will suffice for most runners, but may have problems if you push it too hard. I usually try to stay above 3.0 CHP if I can. And, that is possible in this price range.

The running belt is a bit shorter than the full size. 20″ x 55″ is close to the standard 20″ x 60″, but if you’re tall, or tend to fall behind often, the shorter length can get annoying.

The padding feels good, and the console is fully functional and includes Ifit Live, and a good variety of workout apps. As far as durability, this treadmill would be strong enough to hold up for years for most average families. Large consistent runners may find this isn’t quite suited for them, but still it should hold up for some time.

Here’s a list of it’s specs.

  • 2.5 CHP motor
  • 20″ x 55″ treadbelt
  • 325 lb weight capacity
  • 12MPH
  • 12% Incline
  • Ifit Live
  • 6″ backlit display
  • Proshox Cushioning
  • Workout Fan
  • 24 Workout Apps
  • Ipod/MP3 With Speakers
  • Warranty: Lifetime Frame, 25 year motor, 1 year parts and labor

While there may be better options in this class, offered even by Proform themselves, this is a good basic all around model, and would suffice for an average family.

About My Treadmill Reviews

TreadmillMy treadmill reviews are both subjective and objective. They are objective in the sense that I will provide you with information about each machine, such as motor, weight capacity and other features. But they are subjective in the sense that I am really giving my opinion of each treadmill. You may agree or disagree with my opinion, but my hope is that my elliptical and treadmill reviews can be helpful to you in making a decision on what to buy. Remember that each review is just what I think. You can always check out Treadmill Doctor, Treadmill Review Guru or these other treadmill reviews if you want another opinion.
