Proform Power 1080The Proform Power 1080

OHIYO! Thanks be to my loyal customers we are blazing through these treadmills! Pretty soon I’ll have nothing left to write about because I’ll have already reviewed every treadmill! Of course, I’m certain you’ll keep coming back to hear about my unusually exciting escapades down the Long Horned River and across Mount Titicaca. Seeing as that’s what I do on my spare time.

Of course, treadmill companies are so dang good at grabbing an old treadmill, slapping a new name on it, and selling it for twice as much as “the new model”, I imagine I’ll never be able to keep up with all the “new models” out there. I feel invigorated with purpose knowing that wherever there’s a poor soul looking to buy a treadmill, A “Treadmill Sensei” will be there for the rescue to keep them from getting ripped off. To me, that’s even better than Mount Titicaca..almost.

Lets look here at the Proform Power 1080 Treadmill. What does it have that makes it special? Honestly, it’s just the price. Proform is another Icon company, which means fairly decent mass produced quality with a lot of extras for a low price. Icon is by far the largest treadmill manufacturer which means they can produce more for a lower cost. This is a win/win for the consumer when it comes to quality vs. price. However in the customer service side, you are compromising.

The Proform Power 1080 is a classic example of a quality treadmill loaded with stuff for a very low cost. At $1,300 it’s sold almost at half of its regular retail value. It’s got the quality of a mildly higher end treadmill, the fitting and packaging is solid, and the specs are good. A few corners have been cut in the durability of the materials, the design of the deck, and the exaggerated Motor Power.

The Motor claims to be a 3.25 CHP, The max speed is 12MPH, the max incline is 15% (both of which can be adjusted with a little know-how), the weight capacity is 325 lbs, the running belt is full length and width (20″ x 60″), and the cushioning works well using an air based shock system(see the picture).

Some of the notable features on it are:

  • The Easy Lift assist
  • Built-in Ifit Live
  • 7″ full color touch screen
  • Heart Rate Monitor
  • Ipod/MP3 Connection
  • Built-in speakers

Take all these goodies with some 30 extra preprogrammed workouts, Set-A-Goal Center, and a very nice console interface, you’ve got yourself a comfortable, fun, and powerful treadmill. Really the only thing left that it could use would be a water bottle holder. The Warranty is a good Lifetime on the Frame and Motor, 5 years on parts, and 2 years on labor.

At $1,299 you can really buy this treadmill with confidence. Its an impressive price for an impressive treadmill. Perhaps we’ll consider putting it in the Best Buys soon.

Good luck with your search. Hope this stuff helps. Now back to Mount Titicaca!

About My Treadmill Reviews

TreadmillMy treadmill reviews are both subjective and objective. They are objective in the sense that I will provide you with information about each machine, such as motor, weight capacity and other features. But they are subjective in the sense that I am really giving my opinion of each treadmill. You may agree or disagree with my opinion, but my hope is that my elliptical and treadmill reviews can be helpful to you in making a decision on what to buy. Remember that each review is just what I think. You can always check out Treadmill Doctor, Treadmill Review Guru or these other treadmill reviews if you want another opinion.
