Hello my loyal readers! It’s good to have you back for more. My story today is on the Proform Trailrunner 4.0.

Over the past year Proform has really been pushing hard, and getting more and more competitive. The Trailrunner is prime example. This is an extremely good treadmill, but generally it’s about $3000 which makes it a little less exciting. It’s still not bad, but it’s not very alluring at that price.

The Treadmill is on a crazy sale right now for about $1700 bucks. The regular price is practically cut in half, so I’m guessing a lot of people are wondering if they should buy it. I figured I’d right a review about it to help people know what they’re getting.

Proform is one of Icon’s largest dealers, which means a lot. Icon is by far the largest treadmill manufacturing company in the world. Their treadmills have not always been the highest quality, but usually they’ve been the most affordable. Throughout the past several years Icon’s quality has been improving along with their prices.

The Trailrunner 4.0 is one of Proform’s best designed, and most expensive treadmills. It has all the most advanced electronics and high quality components. Usually the people who buy it are not looking for a budget treadmill, but are willing to pay for quality and longevity. It claims a 3.8 CHP engine (which, when you run on it, feels like it could actually be true). The running area is the full 20″ x 60″ with a 2-ply belt to make it quieter and more durable. The drive system is very well balanced and powerful. The cushioning feels great when you run on it. The speed and incline are the full 12MPH and 15% incline. The weight limit is 350lbs. The warranty is better than most, giving you lifetime frame and motor coverage, 5 year parts, and 2 year labor. The features are:

Mix this treadmill in with all the others in the mid $1000’s class and it looms well over their heads. If I was looking for a good treadmill in that price range I’d usually go with a NordicTrack, or some other company, but right now I would have to recommend this treadmill. At this price it’s a purchase you will be happy about for years and years as you see your trailrunner stand up to your beatings. If you’re a serious runner this will work for you.
