The BioGlide motion technology in the Schwinn 420 makes a surprisingly smooth stride.
Ellipticals $700 – $1,500
Best Buy: NordicTrack ACT Pro
This unique elliptical trainer is actually about half the length of a traditional rear-drive elliptical. I really like the cool design and the motion and movement of the workout. It also has adjustable stride length from 18″ – 22″ so that it can work for anyone in your home. It can even work your upper body at the same time.
As with all NordicTrack machines it is iFit Live compatible, a feature I really like. It is also on sale a lot, so when it is you can’t beat this deal- simply the best you can buy in this price range.

Ellipticals Over $1,500
Best Buy: Smooth Agile DMT X2
This is the more affordable version of the DMT Agile Trainer from Smooth Fitness. This is a nice, upgraded elliptical. Not only can you use them as elliptical trainers but it also includes adjustable motion. You can choose different elliptical strides and motions, from the normal elliptical arc to a more intense stair stepper motion. This works more muscles for a more intense workout, which I really enjoy.
The Treadmill Doctor also picked this elliptical trainer as a Best Buy as well. The consensus is clear- this elliptical rocks!
