The NordicTrack ACT PRO Elliptical is very sturdy and beautifully designed elliptical. It has a footprint of 51” x 38” that is half the size of normal ellipticals! This is a great option for those who are challenged or limited by space requirements.
The NordicTrack ACT PRO Elliptical starts with a center drive system that has proven to be very reliable. The drive system is well designed and helps in emulating the natural elliptical motion needed to construct a good elliptical machine.

Hi, Sensei – Thanks for the best elliptical reviews on the web! They’re very helpful to me as I’m contemplating which machine to commit to. One correction: The ACT Pro maxes out at a user weight of 375lbs. The ACT Plus is the lighter duty version and maxes out at 350lbs. According to the NordicTrack rep, this is the major difference between the two… in addition to a few hundred dollars in price.

Thank you for the kind words, and looking out for me. However, I just re-checked this machine on NordicTrack and found that the ACT Pro does have a user weight capacity of 350lbs; both the Pro and the Plus version have the same weight capacity. Looks like they’re advertising two different machines with the same name. Here’s their page for the 375lb ACT Pro. I bought mine “new in box” off craigslist. I was disappointed to see that it was the old one (with 350lb capacity, without the cardio chest strap, cushioned grips or color display)
Yep, that must be an upgraded version to the 350lb machine. I’ll have to update that review to highlight the new machine instead of the old one. Thank you very much for clarifying that. That’s too bad you didn’t get what you were paying for from craigslist. I hope you got a good deal on it since it is the older version.
