Lifespan Pro3 vs. Smooth 9.65TV

For today we’re about to have a showdown with two very different opponents. TheLifespan Pro3 and the Smooth 9.65TV.

OHIYO.. okay, today I’ve paired up these two particular treadmills to show you something. How a treadmill can be more than what it seems, and how a treadmill can’t always be judged by its first glance specs. Such is the case with the Lifespan Pro 3. Take a look at these specs, and think which treadmill would be better.

Okay, so based on these specs, which treadmill would you automatically assume is better? The specs on the Smooth look much more appealing. However, on a more in depth look, it becomes a little more questionable. The specs that the Smooth beats the Lifespan pro are the motor, the weight capacity, The TV display, the warranty, and a few features like the amount of programs, the Ipod/MP3, etc. Generally these specs form our initial judgement of the treadmill, however after searching through the web, you’ll notice this treadmill to be in the best buys of quite a few treadmill review sites..Why? Well, although the specs of the lifespan pro look comparable to even $999 treadmills, they’re not. The Nordictrack C900 has similar specs to this Lifespan, but it’s nowhere near the price because it’s nowhere near the quality, durability, and awesomeness.

The Lifespan Pro 3 is one of the most well built treadmills on the home market in this price range. It costs $2499, and sells with ease. It has endless great reviews about it, and you can see it in droves at clubs and gyms. So, what is so great about this treadmill? Well, I honestly don’t know, other than that it just works. People want a treadmill that just works, regardless of what fancy specs and hp and weight limit it’s given. People want quietness, solidness, comfort, and usually a few features.

This treadmill is known to not break down. It’s made of great quality, and a lot of effort was put into the fundamentals to make it as sturdy and solid and durable as possible. Props to Lifefitness for this treadmill.

Now, onto the Smooth. The Smooth 9.65TV is actually one of my favorite treadmills in this price range. The specs are fabulous. While this model hasn’t had quite the rap that Lifespan has had, it’s still a personal favorite of mine. The only qualm I have with it is the built in TV. It’s not the kind of TV you want on a treadmill. These TVs, while much improved from years ago, are still prone to break. TVs are much better when they’re supported on a separate placement holder. Plus, compared to the TVs you could buy, with the extra price jump, these little 10″ inchers don’t compare. Rather than going with the 9.65TV I would go with the 9.65LC. It’s cheaper and everything about it is exactly the same.

The 4.0 CHP Motor, the 400 lb weight capacity, and the extra large 21″ x 64″ deck are awesome specs and almost sway me toward The Smooth 9.65LC, but I’m still convinced that the Lifespan Pro is a silent and solid treadmill that outdoes the smooth. The Lifespan Wins this round in my book because of its consistency, durability, quality, and solidness.
